could you incubate goose eggs in a brinsea mini?

Thanks @aklydia! 2/2 is awesome!! Especially being new to it! It's really great to hear it's possible, and even that the eggs fit in the bator. I've since stopped using my Brinsea Mini (Eco) because it kept killing and deforming my babies but still great to hear. Glad yours made it! Thank you for posting!

I know this is a fairly old thread, but I'm wondering if the eggs could be placed upright at an angle in a cut down cup or carton and tilted side to side, as a turner would do in some incubators. That might allow for more eggs to be incubated. Also, I tend to keep my mini at 99.8. It will go to 100.0 off and on. I've never had an issue with malformation since I've done this and nearly always have 100% hatches. The temp under a broody can reach up to 104 believe it or not. This is with chicks, however. Will be trying to pop some Sebastopols in the Mini in a week or so. Hoping for the best!

I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure about the cup idea. It sounds great in theory. Good luck with the sebbies! :fl And let us know how it goes, if you can! :)

Thanks. I just managed to fit five sebbie eggs in my mini laying down. Could not believe it. Holding temp beautifully. Can't wait to see those beautiful veins.

5!? Wow! :D Go, eggies, go! :fl

How are your eggs doing now? Thinking about pulling out my mini advance for some goose eggs. I have too many on hand right now, sebbies and tufted buffs, and would prefer not to use my old Hovabator if possible. I have an R-Com 20 Pro, Brinsea 20 Advance and the mini... I know, lots of incubators, but the R-Com, although my most expensive one, seems to be giving me issues. Not entirely sure whether it's the incubator or the eggs, but the mini might help me to figure it out. My only worry is that it would be too hot towards the top of the eggs, seeing as Brinseas are hotter towards the top and cooler at the bottom, naturally. As long as it wasn't too hot, it would probably be okay, however. I'm hoping at least.

just wanted to jump In on this post. I am currently incubating one goose egg in the Brinsea mini. It fits just fine and we're on day 19. Last time I candled was yesterday and baby is looking great.

Old thread but thought I'd chime in. I can fit 5 Pilgrim eggs laying down in a Mini no problem. I haven't tried hatching that many in a Mini tho', I think it would be too cramped! Use a styro or cooler-bator for hatching.

So I know this is a SUPER old thread but I want to start breeding Peahen eggs and am wondering if anyone has incubated Peahen eggs in a brinsea mini advance

I had the same question and I'll be giving it a try in 5 days when my batch of red star chicks hatches. The odds are going to be pretty tough because my peahen eggs (3 black shoulder and 3 silver pied) have detached aircells. So I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I'm planning on using the Brinsea Advanced Mini. I will place the eggs upright (fat end up) for 48 hours without rotating, hopefully this will help the aircell issue. The thing with peahen eggs is that they really, really need to be turn during the first week. So it's going to be tough balancing the whole aircell detachment when I CANT leave the eggs without turning.
