Two of mine pipped this morning and are still just sitting there, although several around them have hatched. I picked one of the pipped eggs up to see if it was dead (go ahead and lecture me
), and it peeped. I'm gonna go find something to do besides stare at the 'bator.
I have five chicks, four pips, and four eggs just sitting there.
I'm hoping to hear about baby turkeys this afternoon!
Your hatched chicks will help encourage the other ones to hatch.
In my last chick hatch I remember the first chick to hatch would peep moving all around the bator and would pass out to rest right on top of one of it's siblings, then peep to help encourage it to hatch. It was so funny!!!!
I actually was saying "Here Turkey, Turkey, Turkey!" earlier.
I am just trying to keep myself busy also. I think I'll go check on them again.
DD finally went down to the basement to whistle to the active egg....................Still no beak action. It looks like the outside of shell is cracked, but don't know if it's broken through the membrane just yet.
These turkeys are sure mello AND TAKING THEIR SWEET TIME!!!!!!
