Countdown to receiving new chicks on oct 9th week

HHMM I didnt see the brown in it. I have 2 SLW chicks eight now so I know what the look like I couldnt see any brown from that pic. My experience with them has always been great and these 2 little ones i have are the first ones to run to my hand when it is placed in te box. I guess that tells how different individual genetic lines are.
I've had SLW from two different lines, both were spazzy. The first one was very friendly once she reached point of lay. She was a doll.

Hope the same thing goes for the other two!

Lots of people have had the same experiences :) Mine were from breeders though, and not a hatchery.

Here are my two with a barred rock girl the same age. They were very slow to grow as well! Or the barred rocks were too fast. :idunno

Beautiful girls. I hope mine dont go spazzy they so far have been ready to come to see me. We will see once they begin to grow huh?

So the barred rock likes to peck at the tank when I sit next to it....I'm surprised at how quiet they all were this afternoon...everyone had a nap including my daughter. Now I went and sat with them again and they all came running out to do their funny antics .....I called MPC about the DOA, and now I'm just enjoying them, my sons about to come home ...my father called me to say not to let my son see them until he can get here lol....

Oh and they do seem to be slower growing. Brahmas are usually the ones that mature slow and my little brahmas are ahead of these guys so maybe that is just the breed. The brahmas I have seem to be at the same rate as the others so far which is awesome

I debated ordering brahmas ...honestly there are so many I liked that I just couldn't choose...it's how I got the mystery pack....I'm really hoping that the three I don't know are Easter eggers...I know one died that kinda looks like a pale yellow with feathery legs. One is the little grey that you guys say is a splash maran which it looks like to me ( what do I know lol) . So three left in the mystery pack. I'm going to do individual pictures and I might just do the marker thing.....I have zip ties but I read somewhere not to use them

I love brahmas. I have a buff brahma bantam and a buff standard and the ones I searched and searched for dark brahmas and I found them plus the hatchery that I could order smaller amounts that wasnt an arm and leg. Next time I am ordering a larger amount though

I've always loved dark brahmas :) I almost got a light one, but someone got to her before I did :p

Do the marker thing. I think your chicks are different enough that you will recognize them differently soon enough :)

I do think you have at least 3 Easter Eggers. All 4 of my girls lay the bluest eggs.

I've been hatching them like crazy because I'm so in love with them. My girls are very personable and my rooster is a big gentleman :)

Those blue eggs are very pretty. Sadly a second chick died today, there is one that looks a little out of it, I. Noticed her right away ...she is eating and drinking no pasty butt...just moving slower than the rest. I did individual pictures....I'm just kinda bummed ...
