mine are due next week i ordered in the first week of january its been driving me crazy !! lol just a few more days left !!!! brooders are set up and ready feed is bought .. shavings are down .. save a chick on hand gro gel in the orders ahh im so excited ..

Mine are too!!!! I'm so excited that I can barely sit still!! I've been grinding up egg shells so i'll have a nice stash saved for when they start needing them just to keep myself busy. I know if I wake up Tuesday morning and they haven't called I"m going to be freaking out. They are being shipped on Monday, so they could come anytime between Tues-Thurs according to the guy on the phone. Only coming from one state away, so i'm really hoping it's Tuesday! I've asked off work for the day that they arrive, so they know if they get called at 6 am too - I'm NOT going to be there!

i never have to work before 8 am so i got plenty of time .. my po always calls me the minute they arive early in the morning !! lol =) and always wanna see what i got !! theyre super careful with them and try to keep them warm !! =) mine ship saturday ? i believe so they should be here monday or tuesday .. hopefully monday lol .. =) ive always had good luck with murray mcmurray =) most of the girls i still have came from them and dickey bub .. lol (which are probably from cackle .. ) or ideal .. ? ill have to see where they ordered from ,,, lol im friends with the manager =) ooohhh maybe i can throw a order in with theirs to get a deal on shipping !!!! =) gotta love chicken math lol

So I went to TSC and got me some Speckled Sussex, I wanted to order them with my big order but they were already sold out. But chicken math nip me again. Was only going to get 6 ended getting 11. I got one in particular because he looked weak and was getting trampled on (I have a soft heart). He is already coming around. I'm loving my baby chicks. But I'm still excited about my big order! 21 more day. 3 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wait is finally over lol. I got my order from Meyer on Wednesday and my order from Ideal today. Let me tell you I will deffinitly go with Ideal in the future. Shipping was cheaper, they got her faster, and no casualties. Unfortunetly I had 1 DOA and 2 died last night from the Meyer batch. I know it happens and I'm not blaming Meyer. I just like the better shipping, packing, and speed Ideal provided.

1st pic Meyer chics ---- 1 Anocna, 1silver lakenvelder, 2 golden lakenvelder, 1 barred rock, 1 blue andalusain, 1 white cochin, and 8 fry pan specials. (both golden lakenvelders died and 1 fry pan special)

2nd pic Ideal Chicks ----- 9 silkies plus 5 peanuts.

Oh cute!! I am so jealous of you all who have them now. My Red Stars are coming Wednesday! I'll be spending the weekend getting ready for them. They are my first chicks so I'm very excited!!

Tuesday I got my 6 babies from TSC (4 speckled sussex and 2 red stars).


Saturday I am picking up 5 Splash laced Wyandottes



And in 6 weeks, my 6 silkies will be here (2 splash, 2 buff and 2 white).

So much for getting six chicks, lol! I am hooked!!

yup i broke down and bought 12 from tractor supply ...

all but four are sexed pullets tho .. the unsexed are partridge rocks =) (i call them the red heads and they gots aditude ... lol =) got 2 "red pullets" that are yellow .. ones has a double strip of red down its back .. she freakin loud lol .. and the other six .. were "pulllets " hatchery choice ... i think they are gl wyandottes .. =) i didnt even think of their breeds just though awwww i want them =) i coul
dnt wait 2-5 more days !!! =) (plus i added to my order .. =) <3 ) yup i should be in chicaholics annyomous ...

At your tractor supply, did they change their policy where the employees can only get the chicks out of the bin?

I was a little taken back yesterday when I got mine because I didn't get to actually pick my chicks. Last year when I got 6 blk australorps from TSC I was able to handle and pick my six, ended up with 5 girls and 1 boy. I don't think my odds will be that good this time. Oh and my chicks are so quite too. They are barely making a chirp, just sleeping eating and pooping. Hubby was trying to tell me they were being loud last night and wanted me to get them out of the livingroom and out of the house... I wonder if they understood him? lol.

Yes, I do believe they have changed there policy. I know our TSC changed half way thru last years Chick Season. We were taken back by it too becasue we have had good luck picking pullets our from roos. Our first batch we picked out we got 2 roos and 7pullets which I think is pretty good. Then our second batch that the employees picked we got 5 roos and 3pullets.
