Covering run with?

Lattice alone will keep out hawks and owls. If firmly fastened, it will keep out coons too, unless they chew their way through. Never stop a weasel tho. I think a fence charger is the best money you can spend for extra security regarding the run.

I'm out of money..lol

Keep investigating while you are waiting to get the money for it. Even chicken wire is good for overhead protection from hawks. Not from coons tho. Welded wire would protect against both tho, but bird netting is cheapest and easiest to stretch into place. Something lightweight like the netting can be supported by bamboo. Lots of people have thickets of that stuff and will let someone cut a few pieces for their use. I used to get it free for my garden until I went to steel trellises for my cukes and melons.

Yet another option would be to buy a flat sheet of concrete reinforcement wire. It can be bought in flat sheets 8' x 20' if that would bridge your kennel run. Would stop hawks and owls by itself without netting added, and would never go away. It is rusty tho, and would be ornery to put up. Coons could wiggle thru it tho.

Although pricey, the best predator deterent is 14 ga. hard wire. It will pay for itself on the long haul. You can connect the end to the walls with rabbit cage clip easily and cheaply too. Here is a pic of my run and walls with the 2x4 14 ga. galvanized wire...

I see you mentioning netting ... but I haven't read the entire thread .... just wanted to tell you that right now on the BYC auction thread there is netting at a reduced price.

OH MY GAWD.... that run is awesome. I love the way you didnt use horizontal wood and left the wire to support itself at the joining point. Is that Mortise and Tenon (term? sp?)
