Our farm was in S.E MO. We never really had a desire to tame them. IMHO with beef cattle, they run the fields and woods, graze, have calves and you eat them.

If I had the room and resources again, I'd have a few minis I think just to have around. Be a bovine fan until the day I die.

Ok, here's something Interesting.
Soo, we had a Red Angus bull, and had a few calves out of him that were real nice. They were steers, but had just as much muscle as a young bull would.
We also had a Black Angus bull, and had some calves out of him.
So, sale barn day arrives, and we bring black and red calves to the sale. The red ones were far better than the black ones, except they weren't black.

So the black ones sell for a nice price, and the red ones sold for much less, just because they were red. For some reason, people have it in their heads that the black ones are much better..... It's sad, because there are so many nice looking cattle that aren't black!

I grew up with pet cows. I loved having them and miss them. Still trying to get my husband on board with getting a couple... Hopefully chickens with be my gateway.

I don't own any cows, but there is a farm 6 minutes away from us which has the most lovely jerseys, Delta, my avatar, is my favourite. There was a Pink too, but she was sold, and Opal is in the big paddock, I will have to go visit her on Thursday. Jerseys are my favourite breed, and maybe when I move out I will get some. My dream herd would consist of Pink, Opal and Delta, with Sunshine [RIP, got eaten] as the bull lol!
