I typically don't give this advice, but shoot it (make it a good shot, so it drops then & there). Coyotes are a big problem, and as some body else said, they are smart. around here they are in packs
but luckily they have enough small game that they are still more afraid of people. If this coyote was hanging out in your driveway that is not good. He is used to people and won't be easily dissuaded.
This might sound like a dumb question, but are you sure it was a coyote? Reason I ask is because we have a dog that looks EXACTLY like one, especially if she is out in our field hunting big game... Like mice
But in all seriousness, that would explain why it wasn't worried about the fact that it was out in your driveway in the middle of the day just chillin'. We don't allow our dog to go outside the fenced yard unless she is on a leash or has on her bright orange vest, that's how much she looks like a coyote...
