Coyote! RIP Cuckoo Roo

I'm very sorry about your loss.

I agree time to get the gun out and ready. Once a hungry coyote finds an easy meal, it'll be back. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your Roo

Beng in Scotland I can't imagine a coyote coming into our garden, foxes and pine martins yes (and also the spaniel that took off with my best laying Black Rock a few weeks ago!!) but coyote, racoons etc no!
I hope he doesn't come back!

It's been a long cold winter and the coyotes are hungry, which makes them either brave or reckless (don't know which and I guess it doesn't really matter) and they go where the food is...doesn't matter how close to civilization. He will definitely return, so be ready for him.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. Darn coyotes!

I was surprised to see five in a pack out in broad daylight this morning too, trotting single file across our country highway. It was about 8 a.m. I think. I stopped the truck to look at them. They all stopped in the middle of the pasture to stare back at me. Surprised me they would not pick up the pace and run harder away from me, but such was not the case. I thought our small Texas coyotes were basically lone hunters so I was surprised to see that many together.

I hope you get that sucker before he does any more damage.

so sad and he was beautiful! We have hawks and opossums here to battle. The opossums we've been catching in traps and animal control picks up to relocate but the Hawks we cannot fight! We've lost a couple sweet little hens to that darn hawk! and two to the stupid possum!

I chased a coyote away from my hen house this morning. I just searched Google for "how to kill a coyote" and came up with more ways than you can imagine. But, since I'm gone from home over 13 hours a day I'm afraid he/they will be back while I'm gone. I sure hope I can get him before he gets to my babies.

Our rifle never gets put away... leans against the jelly cupboard in the kitchen w/bullets sitting on top of the cupboard. Grab... load... shoot!

edited to say... but we have no kids in the house

He was beautiful...! We have coyotes, skunks, owls, hawks, golden and bald eagles and who knows what else! I will DEFINITELY have my gun handy once I get chickens and they are outside... maybe I should start target practicing... and train my Black Lab to run down a coyote!
