coyotes getting more brazen! what to do?

we have a farm with 3 homes on it, and woodlands and hay fields. Cannot be fenced easily due to woods, streams, size. Coyote attacked one of our dogs, she is ok now. They got a few chickens that free range on nice weather days. Son and SIL have set snares, food traps, and hunted but haven't got even 1. Does anyone have a coyote deterrent or magic solution? This morning they were within 10 ft of hubby going to his truck!

I don't know any way of getting rid of them except waiting until they come and shooting at them. Sorry about your loss, had that experience.

I'd suggest Sniping them at this point.

Patience, IS KEY! Game camera is nice to find out when they are passing through, so you're loaded and ready. Mine come late in the evening and early morning. Snares, foot holds and traps need to be set correctly. Be careful where they are set. And mindful of other animals, and pets.

Sharp shooting the coyotes with rifle without them seeing you.

thanks--took down snares after we had to rescue a deer caught in one. We have seen them at all hours of the day

Snare traps are illegal in many areas. Also make sure you have all the proper licenses and/or permits to hunt or trap.

Good advice. Techincally though, if you and your family feel threatened or the coyotes are going after your livestock, you are allowed to try to get rid of them.

we can shoot or trap nuisance animals---zoned agricultural. not sure about snares, but they're taken down
