THUNDER BAY CHICKEN seems correct in assuming they show up when you least expect it.
I hear the yodeling often here in the desert. Yesterday is the 1st time I came face to face w/Wiley E Coyote by my chicken coop/run area. I had heard a commotion going on, so went to check-of course I wasn't carrying my rifle!! It had just started snowing, & as I rounded the corner to the coop, the brazen beast stood momentarily staring @ me. I turned to fetch the boomer & the critter must have sensed it, as he started to leave the area. When I returned, armed & ready, Wiley E. had left. My lone free ranging BR rooster is also now missing. Tracks showed Wiley had circled the run, even came within two feet of my cabin, (but on the blind side) & took his time checking things out until I showed up. I found no sign whatsoever of my roo, or even indication of the critter coming in contact w/the roo. Fresh tracks in the snow only showed one coyote in the area. This morning, under 5 inches of fresh snow, I doubt if my roo can be spotted anywhere. Mr.Roadrunner had best start looking for a new partner!!!!!
