Redwood Forest Bantams - What start are you in? My buddy is in Missouri, my chickens are in Illinois (right on the border). According to him, he is legally able to trap a raptor that is preying on livestock, and relocate it. He can not keep it though unless it is the designated season for that.
That's different from state to state? Raptors have made a big comeback, it seems like the Govt should either make some allowances for dealing with livestock depredation (in those places where they haven't), or start compensating ppl for the losses.
The govt shouldn't be able to have it both ways, keeping a predator absolutely inviolate while offering no compensation to affected owners of poultry. Just my opinion.
