If the coyote wants your chickens you're going to have to critter-proof the chickens or eliminate the critter. Eliminating it is going to take more than an air gun unless you're mighty good with one and it's mighty close. Even a shotgun is going to require you to get close and react quickly. If you're not prepared to do some hunting, you might look for someone who wants to help with that.
