Cracked beak?

My Delaware, Daisy, appears to have cracked her beak somehow! What can I do for her? Can I trim the piece off or will it hurt her?

I'm no expert but looks like you can trim it with a clipper or nipper, just don't clip in the pink area. The beak is like your nail but the pink area is where the quik is and it will bleed. Wait a bit to see what others have to say ....

Injured beaks usually grow back. I don't know if you should trim it or not.

I agree with @ChickNanny13 just trim the portion that is hanging. If your inclined, you could file/shape it up after you trim, but it may be sensitive. Daisy will likely hone it herself if you have a rock or similar in the run.

I'd maybe take 1/2 to 3/4 of that broken part off,
just to keep it from getting caught on something.
Ditto on avoiding the pink part.

There's very good advice in this thread. I wont add anything to it except that you'll need to observe her if she's eating and drinking normally or not after clipping the beak, or even if you decide not to clip it.
Let us know if Daisy has a problem eating or drinking.

That's just a matter of carefully trimming her beak. Be aware, though, the beak is extremely sensitive, and if you get into the "quick" it will bleed like nobody's business and hurt like crazy. So have someone hold her still while you do the trimming.

Thanks so much you guys! I was just gearing up to go out and trim it. Lo and behold, she has done it herself somehow! It looks much better, like it just has a chip out of it now.
