Eggs are on day 12 of incubation. My grandson was watching me candle and got so excited when he saw the chick move he knocked it out of my hand. He of course began to cry immediately telling the chick he was sorry Im sure you were the best of the bunch. Poor kid. Anyway.... The shell is pretty cracked but not leaking. Is it possible for it to make it or should I go through the ''burial ritual'' with my grandson?

You could try patching it with candle wax or clear nail polish if the inner membrane didn't get punctured or broken, and give it a few days and see what happens if you wanted to try to save it.

Ok thanks! Got plenty of candle wax around. Another of my hobbies. I will try that and hope for the best and check it alot. Do I need to kind of seperate it from the other eggs just incase?

I think you could leave it near the other eggs for now. If it's bad you'll be able to tell in a few days and I don't think there's much danger of it exploding in that time frame. If you're nervous though you could put it in a different incubator/area of the incubator.

Ok thanks. My grandson thanks you too! He finally stopped crying when I told him we could try to save it but that it still might not and he ran for the wax! Lol! Thank you!

Will do. Got it patched up and checked closely again and still didnt see any leaks. Fingers crossed.
