Hello!
One of 7 eggs under my broody hen got cracked. They are on day 8 right now. I candled it and found that the embryo is still moving, do you think it could make it to hatching? Would breaking be a danger, contaminating the other eggs potentially? Here is a picture.

Advice is appreciated, thanks!

I would try to seal it with some nail polish. I've had the best luck with the NP. Wax is terrible, it's hot, messy, and any eggs I've ever patched with wax didn't make it. All but one egg I patched with NP hatched. Do you have any natural nail polish? Don't leave it exposed, bacteria will enter fast.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately, I didn't have any nail polish, much less natural. I didn't want to risk wax, so I tried the most non-toxic patch I could think of: Elmer's glue. I smeared that on good, then put paper over the crack and smeared more glue on top. I'm worried bacteria already entered because who knows when it cracked. But hopefully this works! The egg is still alive. Here is a picture of the egg, all patched up!

Hopefully it works! I've never tried that method, so keep me posted!
