Cracked Egg! What do I do?

put a couple coats of clear nail polish on it so bacteria cant get in

I have tried duct tape and nail polish (but colored) Neither of the chicks survived. I had decided to not do anything next time I have a crack, but perhaps I will try the hot wax first. If wax doesn't work, I will be letting nature takes its course from now on with cracked eggs.

Sorry about the egg. Hopefully your baby will still make it

I've read that hot wax over the crack works. Nail polish has chemicals in it. Just smell it..

Thanks peeps! I wil try the hot wax. I know i have a bday candle around the house somewhere.....

Also an alternative to hot wax is elmer's glue if you don't have any random candles lying around. I just had to do this a few days ago and did some research. You just need to put on atleast 2-3 layers and let dry inbetween layers. Works well and is non toxic, My little one is still hanging in there with the glue trick. Wax sounds good too, and is probably faster than the elmers glue, I just didn't have any wax. Lol. Good luck.

Thanks! I will try glue next time. I coated it with wax and will candle it in a couple of days.

One of my eggs has a couple of cracks in it. I candled the egg and there is still movement. Any suggestions?
I read somewhere you can poor hot wax on the crack or use non toxic glue and it will have a 50/50 chance of hatching if it's fertile

I used a old birthday candle and melted it over a 1/2" crack and 2 weeks later out popped a healthy Rhode Island Red chick. Worth a shot and best of luck......
