Last night, day 17, I was taking off the egg turner and two hit together and cracked. I put some candle wax over the crack. I hat are my odds they survive. They are ameracauna eggs so candling is nigh impossible.

This late in the hatch I think chances are pretty good they'll make it. Assuming it's just the shell not the membrane. Also assuming you didn't go heavy handed on the wax.

Here's an egg I cracked about day 16 by bumping the incubator. It was repaired with nail polish. She hatched fine. In fact she was the first one out.

With cracked eggs in general I have about a 50% hatch rate. It seems to go up the later they are in incubation before they crack.

I double checked my photo timestamps and calendar. That egg I posted above was cracked on day 17! Same as yours. Here's a better pic of the repair job. There was an impact crack and some long hairline ones down the length of the egg. IMG_20200208_210144238_BURST000_COVER_TOP.jpg

I accidentally dropped the meat thermometer on one of my Black Copper Marans eggs on day 18 when I was setting up the hatching incubator. I put candle wax on it and it hatched just fine. I also had one that had a hairline crack when it arrived in the mail. I put candle wax on that one and it fully developed and hatched without assistance! I think this late in the incubation process the 2 eggs should be just fine. :)

I’m hoping so.
I am wanting to get a gray hen which my friend got when I gave him some eggs to hatch out.
