Hi folks,
My Easter Eggers have just started laying and I’m running into a problem I haven’t had before - cracked eggs. It appears it is cracking as it’s being laid and hitting the wooden floor of the nest box. I’ve tried adding extra sand and shavings. The hen that’s laying them seems to be particularly enthusiastic about kicking out the sand and bedding. She will wallow it down to the boards every time. Any suggestions on helping fix this issue?
thanks!
