I cracked open an egg this morning and there were spots in it. I have no clue what they were but they were small brown...... spots. I really don't know what else to call them. All the other eggs were fine but needless to say, that one got thrown out. Any one have any information or ideas what they might have been?

Those brown spots are normal, to some degree, and are called meat spots. They are simply pieces of the hens ova duct lining that have come loose, or have been shed, and the egg developed around them. Just pick the spots out. No big deal!

It's pretty common. Some hens are a bit more prone to it than others. I don't even pick the spots out. Once the egg is scrambled or cooked in a recipe, you never even see it.

It threw me off thats for sure lol. I was going at a good clip cracking eggs for breakfast this morning but I sure stopped when I saw that. I know I have read on her that some people worm once a year or more and others never had. My chickens aren't showing any signs of sickness so should I be concered about worming.

I would add that if you hatch your own chicks, and if you can recognize the eggs by shape or color, and if you see this again in the same bird's egg--- if if if.... don't use her eggs for hatching, as I have heard there can be a genetic component to dropping meat spots into eggs.
