Since it has to be a cross breed, I just find it odd to get a solid white baby.
It can happen, particularly if the Ameraucana parent was crossed with a breed like a White Leghorn in which the white feather gene is strongly dominant.

Hi....just had a question. Recently set some Blue Orpington shipped eggs and finally had some make it out of the egg! Oddly both chicks have feathers on their feet???? I wasn't expecting that? I didn't know there were feather footed Orpingtons. Does anyone have any thoughts on that? My first thought was the eggs weren't pure bred as advertised.
 
No, not yet. I was going to though. They just hatched yesterday and I had to leave town for a conference today. So I'M guessing you find it odd as well?
