Craigslist ad for free chickens is working!!

I definitely wish I had someone posting an ad like that by me. At least you are honest! I had one guy go on about how he had a chicken retirement home. Didn't believe a word of it.

ChikeeMomma - sure! I wouldn't go through a blizzard though - I'm down 52 near I69. I do however go around that way to our cabin, so I would be happy to meet ya! I "haul" them in a crate in the Expedition, with plastic down so they don't poo all over. They stay comfy that way

For those of you getting flagged on CL, I wonder if Freecycle could let you post? I guess, if you stretch the definition, it is recycling! Awesome ad, by the way. Maybe once it warms up a bit we'll try it down here!

I have had mixed luck giving away roosters for meat. I have posted free roosters before with no responses. I find it works better when you have a LOT that all can go together. I had about 10 responses to my recent add for 3 large fowl and 5-6 bantam roosters. When I picked one person, I let them know I might have more than those 6 bantams....they said they would take all I had. So I ended up giving them 11 birds total. 2 HUGE silver laced cochin boys, 1 mid sized golden campine, 1 teenage brahma/cochin and 7 bantam cochins. they were thrilled and when my next batch of roosters is nearing 3-4 months, I will see if they want them again. They were at the meeting place early and the wife brought me a little giftbag with a romanian chocolate bar in it. It was a sweet gesture. I hope those boys feed them well.

My ad didn't get flagged, it just didn't appear. Even after HOURS. It shows up on my account, but it never shows up on CL. Odd.

Yep, also did the whole cell phone code thing, and I can click on the link the emailed and it shows up. It just doesn't show up on the actual farm & garden page. Very odd.

There is someone around here that takes unwanted roosters on Craigslist. I think it's a great idea. Part of his ad said something like, "They'll have a really great life and then one really bad day." It's nice to know someone is open to taking roos that no one else can use.

Weird - well, I do have an account I sign in with CL, so I don't do the whole phone confirm thing?
