Sadly this is very true. People have no respect for other people any more. They dont care that what they are doing may impact another person, its all about them, that ME ME ME ME mind set.
If you use the free Google photo program (Picasa), it will allow you to watermark when you export them. It is just a matter of typing in what you want it to say and then it will do it to all of them automatically. Can't beat the free Picasa program!
Has anyone considered posting another ad on the Seattle Craigslist "outing" the maran's egg seller? A thread stating that the picture is false and that the eggs may or may not be that color would be true and perhaps seen by others interested in those eggs. Especially if you use a similar title.
I know it's illegal. I emailed craigslist and reported the person (who again is a member on here now) and they didn't do anything. She still posts on craigslist, just doesn't use my pictures now! And to be honest, I saw pictures on here of her chickens (or I assume they are hers) and they are actually beautiful. I don't know why she had to steal mine. I guess I should take it as a compliment though.
I have clients that have stolen images off my website or scanned proofs so that they can get out of purchasing prints or the rights to the photos. These are the same people that complain if I charge enough for the session so that I can give negatives and not count on print sales. It's so bad right now that some days I'm not even sure it's worth it. They certainly don't respect the time, my costs, my education and the effort that I put into my images (and photographing a portrait involves a lot more than "pushing a button").
The only way to prevent theft is to not post an image.
A way to protect yourself is to watermark, and watermark across the middle, as if you put it in the bottom or corner, they will just crop it out.
