I flagged it the 3 times it was up, then contacted the person. The ad hasn't been up since then. I didn't notify you at the time because it wasn't until I emailed the person that I realized the hen was yours. . . I just remembered seeing her in the Ameraucana thread.

Thanks for going to bat for me. I think it's so funny that we recognize each others' chickens, LOL!

I think it is FUNNIER that we know their NAMES too!

Can anyone verify that an ad on EBay this past month was not stolen from A Marans Club website? It is the photo of the dark dark eggs on the Roman style columns? I asked the guy if those were HIS eggs and he again verified that yes indeed, they were from his actual hens. In searching for this memorable photo, I could not locate it again but it is very familiar. I suppose he could of supplied the photo to that particular club, but I keep thinking it was a French club, not American.

It's really not hard to do....if I can figure it out anyone can.

Whether or not to watermark could be a setting, and should only apply to those images uploaded in your BYC uploads area, not photos linked to elsewhere on the internet. For example, if you have photos on your own website or on photobucket or one of the other websites that allow you to keep photos, there would be no watermark applied b y BYC, but if you have uploaded them to your BYC space, you could select to watermark or not, and what the watermark should be. Default should probably be "Copyright date by Backyard Chickens user: user name," or something similar.

Too bad, copying someone else's work without permission is illegal. Feathersite says that you can use their images if you give them credit. Specifically:
A Note on Graphics

The photo images are mine unless otherwise noted. Some of the images are of birds that are, or have been, in my possession. Feel free to use any of MINE for nonprofit purposes as long as credit is given adjacent to the image! Credit must be given both to the photographer and www.feathersite.com. (Note: This means you can use a few for school projects or educational purposes, but you cannot take a whole bunch of images to use on a web page -- I want to be clear about that.) Should you wish to use one for profit, please contact me and we will arrange a contribution to the Feed Fund. Regarding those here "courtesy" of other folks, they are also available for nonprofit uses in the same way, again with credits as above, unless they have a copyright (

) notice -- in which case they can't be used without the owner's permission. If you wish to use one of those (someone else's non-copyright images) for commercial purposes, please contact the photographer (you can do this through me at: FeatherSite -- questions and comments).
