I've always had bantam Cochins...these are my first standard Cochins. And it was so exciting to see the Olive Eggers finally hatch...I'd spent 3 whole weeks trying to guess what color they'd be. I'm in love already!

Sorry about the baby, but YEAH! on the hatch. I had a weasel get in and killed that little lav and two blacks. It's rough. I just finished up the last hatch. I only had two whites hatch. And they are weird marked. Waiting for them to dry. I had 5 going along. One quit sometime after day 10 and two quit before hatching. One didn't absorb the yolk. Got 12 of the 13 of mine peeping around. One was still working on it this morning. And darn it if I didn't have 4 of the 5 polishXorps hatch. But they are looking like they will all be blue! Lav roo over splash hen=blue? Who knew?? I'll post pics later.

sorry to hear only 2 of the whites hatched for you.. And like I had said there was still a chance that they could not be pure... But good news is I have some due to hatch soon and have a bunch more to go in in the next few days. Everything I get is going in for chicken stock..so I'll have you some there too.

gotta post pics of those little polish/ orps. They gotta be cute.

ok grand total on the Lav orps I won from you is 11 out of 16 with 1 mottled, 2 lavender, and 8 lav. Split. I had two others pip the aircell but quit

so great hatch!
