I was watching those d'Uccles too, trying to decide whether or not I wanted to bid on them. I really want porcelain, and I need some more Mille Fleur, but of course I came in a minute after the auction ended. Just my luck...

Laurie, I agree with you on how eggs should be shipped. I don't wash mine unless circumstances are extreme, but I do brush them off so there is no dirt clinging to them. I received some eggs in another swap that were old and began to leak after only about 4 days in the incubator; I threw out the whole batch because I had other eggs in there. Even if I hadn't had, I don't want a mess in there! Will I ever want eggs from that person again?

I hope those aren't the eggs that I sent you.

I try to send the cleanest eggs possible, and I do try to brush off any excessive dirt. Not all of my hens tend to like the nesting boxes, though.

I also hope that if anyone is disappointed with the eggs they received that they are messaging the people they got the eggs from and are discussing with them in a kindly manner about why they are dissatisfied or what improvements the shipper could make.

ETA: I am going to put up another auction, for 6 Bourbon Red Turkey eggs. Reserve is $10, shipping is flat rate $12

I wrap each egg in bubble wrap, layer the box with either shredded paper or packing peanuts - which ever I have on hand - and I then place the eggs in this and layer more packing materials on top.

I do mark the box fragile unless asked not to.

These will be shipped in a Medium sized Flat Rate Priority Mail box.
