Beautiful work there....always wanting to try new artsy things, just plumb run out of time. Right now Yarn fibers/knitting are the latest passion along with of course the chickie business!!

Yeah there're some really SPECIAL cakes out there. Some of the misspelled ones are my favorite!
 
Fantastic, and I am just starting to use a piping bag on my cupcakes, make me feel like a beginner.

Can you make fondant, isn't it expensive to buy?
 
My mom is always making cakes for my daughters' school and work events. Fondant makes beautiful cakes but nobody seems to like it. Is there a way to make it taste better?

There are versions you can make but theyre better for covering cakes and you have to use them almost immediately. If you use a 40-50% coupon to Michaels or Joanns it's not really that expensive at all. Especially if you just buy the small 2# box. I'd get into the 10# etc once you're comfortable with it. You can sometimes find the little four packs of gel coloring on clearance for $1 which makes it totally affordable. You just have to make sure that you wrap up the unused fondant really well and keep it in a cool dry dark place. Stuff keeps forever!
