Crazy Chickens!

Hello! I got baby chicks a few days ago and today they seem more energized. They are running around and going crazy compared to what they were like a few days ago. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

Nope, no concern - they are getting comfortable and learning about one another!

Are you sure? They are pivoting randomly when they run and are flapping their wings. And now, they are spending a good portion of their time on the side of the brooder without a heat lamp. Every once in a while they will sit under the lamp.

You may have it too hot for them. Try moving the lamp up a few inches, the chicks will let you know when they're comfortable. Put a thermometer in the brooder. It should be around 95 degrees.
