Crazy Colored Chicken

I'm going to stick with my official vote of Serama... At five months, if that is really the age then I say Serama pullet. That's my official vote.

It is a roo, and although he may have Serama in him, I don't think he is pure..... You can tell he is a male by, color and the pointed neck feathers and around the base of the tail is starting to get his pointed saddle feathers. Pretty color and he looks like a cutie. Roosters will try to breed each other, to show dominance... happens here all the time, a older roo will pin down and hump a younger or less dominant roo.... heck mine hump the ducks and I caught one happily humping the pot bellies head! Even blankets the dogs dragged out are not safe from the Roosters and Tom turkeys affections....

That post reminds me of one of my grandma's hens. Honest to goodness she was the most gender confused gal I have ever seen!! We even seperated her to confirm that she was in fact female because of her crazy behavior. This hen would lay an egg, march on out of her coop and let out the biggest CROW I have ever heard! It was hilarious... Now when people say wait for your chicken to lay an egg or crow to determine sex I think to myself, "hmmm, and if they do both!" LOL

I will have to concede defeat. I have not heard it crow yet but I am gonna have to agree its more than likely gonna be a roo.
