Hmm...Dandelion- I just went out and looked and I guess my hens do have the reddish tint to the eyes. The rooster's eyes are completely red around the outside though with black pupils in the center, so next to him the hens' eyes look really dark. I'd like to find out for sure exactly what they are supposed to be though!

I am pretty new to pure bred poultry (having had mostly "mutts" my whole life) and am learning TONS on this site!!!

By the way, yes, they are extremely prolific layers. My hens barely ever fail to give me an egg every day

That's all I got that are laying too. (Barred rocks)

Oh well, as it gets a little cooler maybe the rest of the girls will get busy.

I don't know. The EE's have slowed way down and it seems the only ones laying of them is the youngsters and their eggs are real small still. The others are my moms chickens and pheasants and she is making money off them on ebay.
