Crazy hatching attempt

My alarm only goes off when it is low humidity, you can adjust it in the beginning, I cannot remember if I set it for temp, but I made sure the alarm only goes off for really low humidity, I wish I could set it up so it would not beep at all. I always check humidity before going to bed, that way it will not go off at night.
That's good! I wish it wouldn't go off at all too. My friend had her's preset, I adjusted it though so that it wouldn't go off so often. I'm not sure I can turn of temp alarm at all.

What's your model? Can you send a picture? Is it really exactly the same or a bit newer?

Maybe wrap and insulate it better to stabilize it. I wouldn't manually open and close as that would create bigger swings from over to under.

Towel wrapping has helped before.
Currently I have two towels on it, with no towels it can't maintain temperature at all. Yeah, you're right, opening it does cause large swings. But when you're woken up at 3 or 4 in the morning, it's hard to think straight.

Eekkk.

Do not trust built in anything.
Walmart sells cheap humidity gauges.
Let me run and get a picture of mine real quick.
Tell me about it. I have a lot of devices bought, hoping for a little convenience, :fl
What did I get? The most beautiful toaster I've ever owned,:wee
"the thing is... It's not working!! :rant

I got mine from a guy who had 2. A newer one, and and older one like yours. He sold me the newer one, but said the older one still worked but not the fan and that is why he bought the newer one. (should have been a hint there) but he said if I wanted to play with the one with the broken fan I could just have it. I cannot fix the fan because all wires are glued to the inside of the upper part that is sealed. I like the on off switch of your incubator though. mine is sort of a button that you cannot even tell if it is in or not, so I don't wreck mine I am just unplugging it. (DON'T get excited about the numbers below, I was heating it up, )

Any how, I had some eggs coming at the end of the month, but the nice thing about having 2 was even though the fan does work on one(and I cannot still incubate in it because with out the fan it is too hot) I still had 2 bottoms, and I thought, well I will just switch out the bottoms and keep hatching, ...then on my new one, I was thinking my turner was not working, so I switched out the turner, and the older turner seemed better, so I am using my newer HHD with an older turner. It was helpful to have the extra parts.
...day 4 and spider veins.

I did remove some unfertile ones. And I am keeping a few in there that are probably unfertile but I am hopeful because I like the egg color. I think I have 25 in there. 21 with veins. others are hard to see into.

Cool! Especially that he gave you the older one for free. What did he sell you the newer one for?

What color eggs? Glad they're developing!

Mine are at day 20.

Thanks so much for that awesome reply! I moved the incubator to the middle of the house, it's no where near windows now and the temp should be more stable. The bathroom I was thinking about putting it in we don't take showers in, so it wouldn't be that bad. Anyway, it's in a better place now.

The incubator looks like this now:View attachment 2006610
That piece of metal is to keep the towels off the vents.

I know I probably shouldn't have, but I candled some of the eggs today. My EE control has a dark yolk and a small air cell is starting to develop (is that normal at this point?) Compared to a fresh refrigerated egg from the same EE, this one is clearly much darker. One of the BCM eggs seems to be developing an air cell also, as for the others I can't tell yet.

I will definitely let you know if they hatch!
That's an Interesting EE you have there. Looks like its gonna give you a lot of chicks to take care off. congratulations & good luck!!!

I bought his he had used it once, last year for $60. I know I could have got something else online maybe for cheaper, but I wanted to get going with my project, plus my free parts, I think it worked out.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but thanks!

Cool! Looks like you're happy with it. This is my friend's incubator, so it's going back as soon as these hatch. I don't own one, this is my second time hatching, the first was with a broody.

It's day 21! No chirping or pips yet, but they were set late on a Thursday night/Friday morning, so that can be expected.

Remember not to count the day you set them you start with the next day as 1. Also I had a small incubator that I made, I got 6/6 but they hatched on day 23.
