They are not only harmless, but tasty (after the bats, nocturnal flying squirrels, Grey Tree Frogs and, yes chooks and turkey hens get done dining I'm surprised we have any at all).

I've never seen a Luna Moth before, thought the Lunestra commercials were just a made up cartoon
moth.
Although, over 25 yrs ago (another lifetime) in California, I was fortunate to see a moth (huge!) with fringed antennae.
I've only seen one luna moth and that was years ago when I lived in Ga. It was hugh and had to go get a camera to take its picture because I thought no one would believe if I told them.
