Crazy people at auctions

I know some Asian markets where a rooster will go for $20 dollars. so they would still be making a tidy profit, with none of the work of growing them out. Just a few weeks ago I had someone pay $15 for 2 roosters. One was 1, the other 6 months. The money probably didn't even cover the feed that went into them, let alone the work.

Sorry for the late update, the last few times I was there one man seemed to be buying most of the grown chickens he bought mostly roosters still from 7.50-11 dollar range sometimes a little higher and he resells them elsewhere for more I never asked what they where used for I assume in this case it was either for meat or egg production. but after starting this thread someone sold me about a man in my area would trade animals from one end of the state to the other since there were amish (and others) interested in new blood lines of animals and not have easy access to other animals for them, he also started to buy animals for sacrifices of various relgions since we live in a diverse area locally. some of the higher prices were going for hens or groups that were hen heavy (meaning more hens than roos).
