Asher, what kind of polish do you have? I have 2 buff laced hens. Ever been over this way??

I just got them today. hehe All banties, about 6mths old. The roos are three blues (one w/ gold around its neck), one black and the two girls which are staying, a black and a splash.

The only time I head towards the middle of NC is when I go to shows in Winston Salem. That's the furthest I go.

Crazychicken ~ naw, sometimes chickens get colds, IMO. Change in the weather can cause that. I, personally, wouldn't cull just based on that (would medicate, though), but it sounds like there's definitely more going on with the OP's birds.

Mine have sneezed too and I don't know too much, but as far as I know a little sneeze here and there is fine - just not a lot of sneezing or runny nose or is it beak?

Just medicate if they seem to do it too much.

yeah i figured it was not serious but i was just wondering. and i would not cull unless i gave it all the medicine i could and it was on its death bed with less than a day left or something like that.

he is my pet and if i had to kill him it would devastate me.

I am sorry for the loss. I wish there was a way we could all pitch in and help you get a new flock when this is all over. I like my birds a whole lot and money or new birds wont really replace them. You are doing the right thing. Maybe your the first to notice a really bad disease and as a result of your great love and care you will save a lot of other back yard flocks. That makes you a Hero! in my book!

A sneeze here and there is completely normal from scratching around in the dirt. If the nose starts running or you hear rattling in the chest, that's when you know there's a problem.
