I have seen a few threads about Cream Legbar mixes but haven't found enough detail about the outcome of this mix. Will the babies have sex linked characteristics? Is the mix have a better lay rate than the Legbar?

Would love pictures too!!!

The hen is a white leghorn and the roo is a cream legbar

Thank you for the name! I am still not finding whether the chicks have sex-linked characteristics. I am tired of raising Roos :(

I don'believe they do, sorry :( You'd be better off getting a CCL hen and breeding pure CCLs if that's what you're after.

So you can use brown leghorn male over legbar hen. This way you will have barred males and non barred females.

No sex linkage from that cross.

Basically, you wont' get a sex linked cross using a white Leghorn as either parent. they have dominant white and that interferes with the other colors.

Your chicks will be pretty much white, with maybe some ghost barring and flecks of black, or some reddish leakage.

Better layers than the Legbars, not as good as the Leghorns. Large pale blue eggs.
