Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

Ok! I have been studying all of the wing pictures..... There is a lot of difference in some of them. Now can someone tell me which are closest to the SOP?

this is as close to the SOP I have seen so far..

Age: 8 months
I don't know what color to call the rest of him he's definitely got tones warmer than silver but generally a light colored rooster.

here is a close up photo of Elvis who is still in rough shape poor guy. But his color seems interestingly made up of chesnut interspersed with some gray and maybe cream to me. I've brought him to his own coop with just one other young hen for company and put him on 22% game bird feed mixed with all flock 18%. I am just really interested in his color at this point and what it will look like next spring when I can really see it.

Can I see more pics of Elvis? I want to see full pics of his body, to judge Type, because so far his color is very good

I will see what I can do to get reasonable type photos. He's still small framed compared to what he should be. But when I pick him up he is shockingly "meaty" feeling lol. I guess that's the game bird feed mix he's had the last couple months. He also has a crooked comb. Still I will try to get better pictures of his body.

I brought him home and gave him a bath but not sure how much better than this picture I'm going to do.

Ok maybe he's not totally dry yet but here are the best ones I could get with the glare I couldn't get rid of.

Sometimes a different photo looks like a different bird!

He only weighs 5 lbs still. I think he was stunted as a chick due to lack of feed. He still looked like a chick at 6 months old and just learned to crow at about 7 months. So I bet he would have been bigger if well fed.

Here's Charlotte she lays that big green round egg and her weight is right at 4 lbs that egg was 86 grams! Should I crack it to see if its a double yolk?

She's just had a bath and yes she's in a 55 gal aquarium inside drying off.

He does look promising.  What is your experience with yellow ear lobes versus the standard for white ear lobes?  My best pullet's ear lobes tend to yellow rather than white and she meets the draft standard for color and type otherwise.  The rest are of my birds have white ear lobes.
one of my original males had yellow earlobes and one of my original females had a green tint. They both have white earlobes now

Three cockerels
1-Arthur 6 1/2 months (he has spinal deformities and will not be used for breeding, but is a pet)
He is non-Cream/Gold

You can see the gold and white barring on the secondaries. His saddle is gold/ginger/chestnut/grey and white barred

And the the younger ones at 3.5 months (sorry they are road runners and I could not get standing body pictures of them). Barnaby on the left showing a darker barring of his chest, Cumberbatch on the right, not darkly barred -

2- Barnaby 3 1/2 months--So far he is looking good for Cream:

The leading edge of the secondaries are white as opposed to Arthur's gold with the following photo showing a close-up. When folded, this will be the wing bay/wing triangle and will appear white or white and grey:

Both wings spread out showing the amount of chestnut which is appropriate (vs Arthur's gold/chestnut):

3-Cumberbatch 3 1/2 months, also looking Cream, overall lighter grey barring than Barnaby and very little chestnut:

Close-up of the saddle showing cream and grey

Both wings spread out. As with Barnaby, the leading edge of the secondaries are white, not gold.

Everyone is still too young to make definitive judgements on color and pattern. I will use both Barnaby and Cumberbatch for breeding in the spring and will take more photos when they are older to track their plumage changes. Unfortunately, I don't think Arthur will be around much longer as his defects are taking their toll on him so this may be it for the photo series on him.
