Thaat is a USDA small - which is respectable for a pullet. Here is a link to a chart that tells how the USDA sizes eggs:Today's egg weighs 1.5 oz.

Hi StoneW123 -
Woohoo! Go Kathy!Hi StoneW123 - Nice pictures and nice sizes... I have approximately the same exact experience....the pullet eggs around 1.1 to 1.4 oz -- (first egg) but 1.25 or so seems to be the norm...... And adult eggs around 2oz and daily. I really love the ones that are daily layers. BTW just won 2nd place in the 'other colors' (not white, not brown) for three eggs at a poultry show today -- and I was very proud of the hen .I should have gotten a picture of the first place eggs...the shade was about the same, and I think the difference is theirs were more classically egg shaped and mine are a little rounded. Just look at poultry shows near you - and if there is an egg show---and you have some that fit the class -- uniform, nice shells etc. and you want to dip your toes into poultry shows...it is a really good way -- Hope egg shows will become more popular because they are fun and easy. I think the entry fee was 3.00, and my prize was a bag of freeze-dried meal worms. Now that will make the chickens happy!
LOL thanks KP -- -Woohoo! Go Kathy!
Rees Male shows very good melanin barring as called for on the SOP on these Areas, Hackle, Saddle, Back, Wing Bow and Coverts, But lacking well defined Secondaries(AKA Wing Triangle) but this seem to be a Trait of the Rees lines(been following her line for a while) and Breast(not well defined barring and lighter in tone compared to tail barring, as far as the SOP goes it should be as dark as Tail)
KPenley Male: this exceptional male shows not only good melaning barring, but Well Defined Barring which is impressive on Breast(well defined barring and as dark as Tail) Hackle, shoulders, Wing Bow and Coverts, and Well defined Secondaries(AKA Wing Triangle) the Saddles is lacking a little bit onthe grey barring but not devoided of it(ofcourse) oh and very nice yellow shanks..
that was for SOP Grey Barring comparison as both show exceptional cream coloration(as far as double barring B/B ig/ig on a not red enhanced gold s+/s+ male goes), as For Type I am really not so good, but I can see the leg drums on the KPenly male and not on the Rees Line male
