Yes, I've heard the meat can go tough or stringy once they start to crow. But they're young so there may not be much meat on them. I probably won't fry them anyway.

Yes. But Australorps have REALLY shiny feathers, different from the Ameraucanas, whose feathers are kind of flat and dull. The Aussies, in the sunshine, flash like jewels, iridescent blue, purple and green. Almost dazzling. Like a hummingbird.

nope, didn't know I was supposed to.
I had one of those birds, got him from the po-po

I was going thru the drive thru at DQ right next to the police station and there was a roo out there panting pretty hard so I drove over and went inside. I asked them if they knew it was out there and it needed water. I offered to loan them my net and they called before I even got home asking me to bring it. So all the way back to town with the net and a crate. So worth the trip! CPT. Mertock and sgt. brown came out and I sat in the van ready for the show. Hahaa The CPT was a very umm large man and to watch them running all over that place was well worth the trip! They ran and ran for a good 45 mins. in over 100 degree temps. Rooster finally gave up. I used their phone to take pictures then came home with a new roo I named CPT Murtock.
