Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

thanks to both of you for your info.
My avatar is a Gold Cuckoo Marans Roo. He is lovely!

I have heard the same, about later laying pullets. Makes since, as it should be a more mature bird, at point of laying.

I have my 1st four Cream Legbars in the incubator now. The trio live at my Biz Partners house and this is our test hatch. She has 4 under a hen too.
Whooo - hooo ----> good luck with your hatch(es)!!

Yes, I can see that this is rather useful. Where does it come from, ie. who made it and when?
I´m not sure when or who made it I found int on google...

but I was able to use that chicks drawing and a Cream Creasted Legbar drawing I found on google and put them together..

check it out(no photoshop just the paint program)

I like the chicks drawing

we could also have an artist draw how the birds head(for creast and comb looks) should look like..

just like this leghorn rooster´s head, but maybe with the color included so we have one drawing covering physical looks and color looks

Here is where I first saw that artwork:

This is from the discussion in that thread
.."but isn't the painting of Crele Leghorns? ( I don't know when it was done - and Van Gink lived till 1968 - so maybe he did paint Legbars? ) " - Nick who raises Silver Legbars in Australia goes on to say it's from the Australian Poultry Standards book. - BTW as that thread leads me to believe Australia doesn't have Cream -- and someone estimated it would take around 10-years to re-create one providing the Cream Gene is in Australia at present. ETA - it's a very old thread and they may have subsequently been imported.

so it is a painting by someone named Van Gink. "Van Gink was a poultry man and Dutch artist -- here's a link to more of his stuff -- but that Leghorn one is exceptional. :O)

Oh no......
I am an artist, and have recently thought about trying chickens.
If you all send me the pictures to use, I'll give it a try. I can even do the chicks (I hope, I have never tried "down" before)
Water color or colored pencil?

Silver Crele chicks should be identical to CCL chicks, autosexing silver looking wildtype chicks
