Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

Pics
The APA is very specific about the color of Wellies. Maybe some keepers of Wellies don't care what color they are, but the SOP is clear and the judges understand it. There is always slight differences in parti colored birds, but that is nature and those differences need to be subtle to fit with the Standard color description. The slight differences are usually found in females.

If you want these in the APA SOP you have to decide on color. If you have a range of colors that are acceptable....why have a Standard for color? The crest ....if in the description will have to have a color description. Every part of the bird needs to have an accurate color description with very little leeway in shades.

The APA will requires that all lines of CL's use the same color description. This is why it is good to start on this now if you want this breed accepted by the APA.

Ok with this in mind, let's do color last. Tomorrow's plan is to post male again with many posses, then take the males through the sections needed for Shape. Remember this cream legbar male is not the standard (hardly), it's a visual reference to see where the parts and language apply. Once again, if you have males that better exhibit a section, please show yours as an aide to discussion. Tomorrow after the photos, I'll add in what we have from the BPS in the appropriate sections to see where we need language, and where we need to improve language. For those who like thinking ahead the sections are Comb, Beak, Face, Eyes, Wattles, Ear-lobes, Head, Neck, Back, Tail, Wings, Breast, Body and Fluff, and Legs and Toes. Let's have fun!! Are you laughing, are you still laughing? I am!

I have been here from the beginning, but I am mostly reading and LEARNING! It is very interesting to see all the ideas being put out there. I would love to help, but not sure how I could. I do want to breed for quality rather than quantity.

Thanks! We're good!

What got you into chicken genetics anyhow?
I´m a junior Scientist and jr biologist sinse I can remember and love challenges, I was 4 and was waking up at 2 a.m just to watch the stars and let my imagination run loose, I love to predict the outcome of things before they happen, but not by chance or luck, but using numbers, genes and statistics... oh and I also Created a DIY Spray On Chrome Kit using off the shelf parts and chemicals, I predicted(play out how things were going to work) on my mind a thousand times before I built the kit, I built the kit and showed "Everybody" how to do it themself, because if ones wants to buy a spray on chrome machine they have to pay $8,000 and I showed how to do just about the same with lke $200 woth of chemicals and tools...

Here is the DIY if any of you are interested on this subject(love helping people around)

That's amazing how that works! You never know where chicken people come from. Will have to pass that along!
I just love science, when I was living back at the good Old US of A(got my High School diploma there) I was breeding salt water fish just to keep me out of trouble...

they call me mad scientist here in Nicaragua....
