I have two cream legbar pullets, and was wondering if anyone knows what would happen if i crossed them with a cream legbar roo. I doubt they would be autosexing, but would they still be called cream legbars? Any pictures or information is great!

Am I missing something?
A breed crossed to the SAME breed SHOULD be the same breed. :p

They should be auto sexing... as far as I know. Though some lines have not maintained their clear auto sexing traits very well. So may be harder to tell. :pop

You would not be "crossing" them...ccl are a breed, not a hybrid or cross. They breed true so you would yield more ccl and, yes, they would be autosexing.
That must have been the part of the question I wasn't catching.

Yes I agree with what has been posted... that CCL are a breed that breeds true with auto sexing traits and not a hybrid (cross breed) as the sex links are that many are familiar with...

Auto sexing will breed true.

Sex links will not breed true.

Yay for you! :wee

The simplified explanation would be that sex linking is manipulating characteristics that can be genetically inherited when crossing 2 different breedskie a Rhode 8sland red rooster to a barred rock hen, result black sex links) resulting in offspring that inherit parent all characteristics that allow for gender differentiations based on those characteristics.
Auto sexing is when a breed, such as the CCL, have gender differentiated characteristics that are maintained when breeding a male of that breed to a female of that breed.
