Cream Legbars

I had some interesting chicks hatch yesterday. I got more females than males :). Which is always good. But these 2 rather unique looking cockerels showed up. They are shades of grey and maybe silver. The 1 has a little brown on him but not much. The pictures really don't convey the color. They are pretty but not what I was expecting. I have heard of "sports", but I don't quite understand how it happens. Any info would be appreciated. I've hatched about 40 out with this group and all the others looked as expected. What would I do with them? If it is genetic, do I not breed them? I definitely want to grow them out.

they fall within the range of normal male down patterns from what I've hatched. The pattern is still blurry and the lines a bit faded, they still have the large white spot on the head, eyeshadow at a minimum. Even though they are autosexing, they still have quite a bit of variety. I love it!

The pattern is definitely male. But my other male chicks have shades of brown where these little guys are grey or silverish . The coloring is almost like what you see when they lose their down and the grey barring comes in. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen male chicks this light at hatch.

Here's some pics of some chocolate cream legbar chicks I just hatched, even though they are not pure cream legbars I figure you people might find it interesting

They are a mix of chocolate orpington and ccl crosses crossed back to each-other (I got the eggs from a seller on ebay), so I got 2 out of 9 from this hatch that have the cream legbar pattern but with the chocolate base color!

Middle one is just a normal chocolate orpington chick

Congrats on the new chicks and especially the extra pullets!

So far, these down colors (which I would call grey brown, with a defined racing stripe) always grow out gold for me. If anyone has a different experience, I am interested. Does the cockerel on the right look about like the ones you posted?

Meanwhile the cockerels that are more sandy tan than grey brown grow out cream for me.

After reading about the chocolate crosses, just to be clear - when I say brown, it has nothing to do with any other breeds.

Hi, saw your post in the hybrid thread. Please post your pics again as they grow out.

Update on the babies. They are getting so big! Unfortunately the dark pullet with the bigger crest is starting to develope a wavy comb.
But the pullet I thought was crestless does look like she may develope a a little baby crest after all:)
I'm just adoring the lil cockerel. His crest is a little out of control but his color is gorgeous! So far no red leakage. Fingers crossed it stays that way. All three seam to be fully cream which is super exciting! I don't see any copper or gold on any of them so far.
