Cream Legbars

you might have won the lottery with this light boy

I sure hope so. I was super excited when he hatched. I got a little nervous when it was said he looks weird.
His light color id love to have him. But it also looks like the lighting is weird and he might have a rusty color in places
I took the pics last night under a lamp for light. Ill try to get a few of him today in natural sunlight. I haven't looked him over too good yet just the few quick pics I took of him he seems to have a slight tinge light rust.

He looks fine to me and very similar to what I normally hatch. This is Macbeth as a chick. And since your hens are from my stock I'm very interested to see how he turns out.

There is not any consistency in male chick down from one flock to another. Some folks swear by the dark gray chicks but mine are usually a slatey gray - gray undertones with some rusty coloring anything dark will just turn out too colorful in my birds I don't even bother to grow them out anymore.

Thank You that makes me feel better and rather excited! Id love to have a rooster that looks like one of yours. So fingers crossed I have a good pairing going on with the hens I got from you and my rooster.

I will keep everyone updated as he grows.

This is my only chick to hatch from some shipped eggs. The eggs were a nice blue color. I could easily see that she was female at hatch. She is about 6 weeks old now. Being my first legbar, I'm not sure what to expect, any comments on her color? Her feathers are so much softer than any others and she is very friendly. It is disappointing to only have one, with no one to compare her to.

What a sweet chick! Love that top-knot. She will probably grow up to be a great blue-egg layer for you. Are you planning to breed/raise Cream Legbars? If you are, you shouldn't have too much problem getting a rooster that is nice - and in line with what your are going to raise. That will be advantageous too - that they won't be from the same hatch so you know that you won't be pairing brother-sisters to get the chicks that you will raise.

It is interesting how very soft CL feathers are...they do seem softer than a lot of other breeds. Good observation!
