This is my Niece Cheyanna and our chicks. On her L shoulder are Norbert and Lemon Cuckoo-Big Bird, R shoulder is Lemon Chalet. From Left to Right on her arms are Pitta, Midnight, Briony, Thursday and Arnold. They are about 6 1/2 weeks old. Arnold is twice the size of Briony and Norbert and he is getting a large and floppy comb. The girls are all developing crests and Briony has some funny wing feather on her right wing, They seem to stick up. As you can see they are very social and friendly.

Hi, Hope it's okay to jump in here. . . do you know if the crest means it's a girl? I have a young marin--cream legbar cross and it's got a crest. I am so hoping it's a hen.

Some of my boys are growing crests too but they have a more prominent comb.

thanks--- I guess I will just have to wait and see what I have after they are grown (either they will lay eggs or crow sooner or later)

Hi chcks4fun....

both my male and female legbars have crests---but the females is definitely more prominent---AND was visible sooner. Post picts....maybe it will be a hen@

I have a pair that should start laying in a couple of months and they are beautiful. They're from Greenfire and are NPIP certified. I'll keep you posted.
