Cream Legbars

LOL We had a weird cool front come through that day, about 2 weeks ago, it was in the UPPER 70s and LOWER 80s for about 3-4 days, which is almost unheard of for July! We are above 110 for the heat index today and it is MUGGY. We are having another cool front moving through next week. It has been a STRANGE weather year all year! They are predicting a worse than normal winter, too, so we are getting things set up AHEAD of time with electric to several of the coops, and this one large coop for all the laying hens.

And the chair was only clean for the afternoon- by the next day it had goat poop all over it.

goat poop?! And I thought chicken poop was a landmine (I always forget to look...)

Hope the weather is strangely good! I admire your preparedness.

This year I hatched out a lot of cream legbars. I have about 50 pullets of various ages. 30 of them are in one pen and about a week or so I found my first egg and as you know pullet here an egg, there an egg, everywhere an egg, egg, egg,...So I have been getting 1-4 egg this every day this week. Today I pulled out eggs and eggs to the tune of 18 all in one day.

4 or 5 tend to be more green the rest are light blue.

Nice eggs....second one from top on far left column looks like a real 'pullet bullet' -- probably her first egg - you have some nice sizes there and beautiful colors IMO. Congrats.

waiting, waiting...go!
thanks for posting, it's always helpful to see the color variety
which one do you think is the most saturated blue color? ie not as pastel
The 4th one down on the right looks the bluest to me...

It's hard to tell in the picture and in person too LOL. What I think is blue to pastel blue someone says oh no that is a green. I have so far three that lay a fairly nice blue two lay more on the green side and then everything in between. Sorry I am not much help. These are just pullet eggs and I am sure that size and color will change over the next few weeks.
