these guys lack crest(or is so small I cant see it) correct hackle color, but saddle and shoulders are too enhanced
These pair looks gold crele, not cream crele at all.
now this Male has a good coloring, and I can see a small crest
the male on the background has better coloring than the fron male
I finally got some pictures of some of my birds and thought I'd share. The girls refused to come out of the coop. They are spending more time inside now that a few of them have started laying. I'll keep working on getting some of them. Critique of these boys would be much appreciated!
Too much chestnut on this guy's saddle and shoulders, and he seems too dark but it may just be because we are looking at the shadowed side of him. Tail angle a little high but not too bad, nice leg and beak color, nice ear lobes, good eye color, good wattles and big straight comb. I like how his comb follows his head well. Not sure if I can see a crest there or not, looks like maybe a small one. How old is this guy? If he's pretty young I'd say his chest should finish filling out over the next few months.
This one is better color wise. Same comment on the chest- I'd like to see it filled out more but I assume he's young and it will get there. I don't like the back of his comb blade- it seems to be coming up off his head and heading out too much. Tail angle just a little high here, too- again not too bad though. Good eye, leg, beak, earlobe coloring. Can't see his crest if he has one.
Pretty girl! Good feather coloring, leg coloring, beak coloring, nice neat crest, great tail angle. Can't tell for sure because of the sunlight but her hackles appear cream.
Is this the same girl?
I'm assuming this picture and the next one are of the same boy. As the tail is the same angle in both photos I'm assuming this is his regular stance. Probably the worst tail angle of all the boys. Can't see the back of his comb so I don't know if the blade is right or not. He is crested which is good. Earlobe color isn't very white but if he is young that should change as he matures. Good leg and beak color. Overall color is pretty good. Chest needs to fill out more. Can't put my finger on why, maybe it's just the tail, but he is my least favorite of all the ones you've posted. His comb just seems off, too- too far forward maybe?- but it's hard to tell exactly without a straight side shot.

thank you for the feedback. sadly, the last roo has the lightest hackles and the best crest... but the worst tail. I have 6 cockerels. These guys are all late September 2012 hatches from GFF, so you are correct, still a little young and should fill in a lot more. I thought I might be able to go ahead and sell three of them and was trying to decide which three. If I could just combine the best features of each into the perfect bird lol

LOL Don't we ALL wish that?!?!?!
so if you had to choose, would you choose one with the correct tail angle or the correct coloring? or maybe keep one of each? I guess I'm asking, which is easier to fix over time?
