Our afternoon was great here. The only fly in our Spring day was my hatching. I have 24 CLB's that were suppose to hatch yesterday. Not one hatched. I have two hatchers, the one has CLB eggs, the other has different breeds. The other is through almost through hatching and the CLB's have not started! I did candle this AM and they are alive in the eggs and one has pipped. SO hopefully today. I had told some customers they could get their CLB chicks today. So the birds are making a liar out of me.

Today should be another great day!

Every one that I have had pip has hatched itself -- so that's a good sign.

(if yours are like mine) -- they are just a bit later. Mine have started shortening incubation to 20 days the little hooligans. They are really vigorous chicks.

I have noticed on other hatches they are slower hatching, but this time it is really starting to concern me. They are promised to people! That will teach me to count my chickens before they hatch.

Maybe your incubator is running a little cool? That can delay hatching or they just need a little more time to cook. You are still in a good time window for hatching.

I have Favorelles and Olive Eggers in the incubator right now. I had several Favs hatch yesterday and the Olive Eggers are just starting to hatch now. They are on their own schedule!

My husband and I were just musing about all the chicken related sayings there are..flown the coop, don't count your chickens before they hatch, hen pecked, eggs in one basket, mother hen, fox in the hen house, I could go on and on. Funny how much they have infiltrated our lexicon!

Maybe your incubator is running a little cool? That can delay hatching or they just need a little more time to cook. You are still in a good time window for hatching.

I am hoping they hatch, All my eggs incubate in the same incubator, When I moved them to the hatchers I split them up. the one was about a half degree warmer than the other. (that's the one that hatched)

I am guessing the other is going to hatch soon. I have had a hard time getting humidity to 40% in the one with eggs still in it. Now in the last hour it has spiked to 47% a sure sign of pipping.

My slow hatching CLB's have started hatching. They are looking good. I was so happy to get home this afternoon to find the new babies popping out! I was really worrying about this hatch.

Another white sport!! This is my 5th one.... my 3rd living one. (Murphy's Law). One died within hours, another got trampled in a chick stampede.

But I still have no idea which egg it is from.

3 girls
15 boys



Yep you read that right 15 boys and 3 girls!! I can sell girls, I need to eat boys!

I have a few eggs left, one is pipped but I doubt they will hatch.
