Cream Legbars

I have been seeing close to 100% fertility and hatchrates are typically 85% plus on the Cream Legbars. My highest hatch rates this spring were from the Blue Breda, followed by the Cream Legbars, then Euskal Oiloa, then Black Copper Marans, then Silver Birchens Marans. :)

Just candled Lucy's test eggs and all 6 are developing! How are the other hatches going?
Quoth's six Ice Cream Legbar eggs (oh, that sounds funny! Kathy's Ice is the father.) are candling mostly dark, with an airspace, which I'm assuming means development at least to a certain point and, I hope, through hatch. Possible muttbars in the incubator candle about the same. Incubator eggs' hatch date is Sunday May 5; Quoth's CLs Wednesday May 8. Very unfortunately I'm likely to have to be out of town all week. Arrrgh! My daughter, however, is quite capable. Still, arrgh!

Yes. For some reason blue eggs are just as hard to look into as my dark Marans eggs. If the egg is dark it stays in the incubator through hatch date. If it glows, it comes out. I love candling my EE eggs, though- seeing all the veining and watching the chicks move around in their eggs just never gets old. :)

I have 5 of Rinda's eggs that look great . Some others that maybe quit. And 5 from my own that look great too. I think I'll hatch them out in separate bators and leg band them so I know who's who.

:) Yay so glad! Let me know what you get! Hopefully 9 or 10 fat little Cream Legbar chicks!

I'm keeping fingers crossed for the hatch Sat, or Sun. "don't count your chickens before they hatch" but 4-eggs appear to have been viable at week 1 and two weren't fertile.
