Cream Legbars

Same here on the Rees lines. I really thought I'd buy a couple new males this year, and really work on mine. But, I can't justify paying that price, for a single bird.
I'm also amazed someone had the nerve to price their chicks at $100 each. Wow.

Someone posted that they won an auction of GFF chicks on the facebook CL Breeders page, I think it was @Flaming Chicken ? Not sure if she got any marked Rees line though.

X2 on the Rees lines.  Just too much for my blood.  Someone posted that they won an auction of GFF chicks on the facebook CL Breeders page, I think it was @Flaming Chicken

None of them were marked. I am assuming i recieved the standard mix of pre existing lines.

I don't plan to order any Rees chicks. I think I want to see how my flock breeds out this year.

I think its funny they charge the same for males and females for rees line
Well, I was considering ordering six (6) Rees line cockerels when I thought they were going to be $29 each so I could hopefully have one (1) good one for breeding to my hens, After doing the math on the cost I was only willing to pay about $100 for a good cockerel and even at $29 each that was way over what I wanted to pay. I guess GFF feared that lots of people already vested in the breed would order a lower priced cockerel to cross with the older lines and they wanted to make people interested in the Rees line pay the same price whether they started with pullets or cockerels. I am excited for the Rees line. There is a contest run through the CLB club to win free pair of Rees line birds. I hope people will participate in the contest since it is a nice prize for one lucky person.

i am interested to see how they come out though and if people get all creams when they order . Paying high dollar and still getting golds from the old lines wasnt worth it to me eaither.

The contest sounds pretty awesome.

Jill Rees has being involved in the process of selecting the birds from her line to import and involved in how they are being breed by GFF. She said that she has seen photos of offspring GFF is getting from her line and that they are breeding true. These are not project birds, but the real deal from a well breed line.

Some people will like the Rees line, others won't, but it won't be because they don't breed true. They should be a big boost to the USA flocks.

Since we were recently on the topic of what everyone sells day old CL pullets for, I was just on craigslist for my area and there is someone that is selling their CL pullets(day olds mind you) for $100 each. I find that to be outrageous. All of their day old chicks(including Olive Eggers) have a starting price of $30 as day olds and go up from there depending on breed. Crazy, but maybe they have some nice chickens

That's the gentleman I sold about 20 pullets to last fall. They seem a tad overpriced

ETA - edited myself when I re-read my post.
