Cream Legbars

Maria's were the silhouettes for the logo, weren't they? I bet they're still near the start of the SOP thread. I lengthened and rounded those pics for my shadow images, but messed up the hen lol.

You're probably right. We went through so many versions I can't remember where they started!

Super-duper cuteness. Please continue posting pics. How many did you lose? ( If that is not too insensitive to ask)

I think I ordered 9 total. 6 pullets 3 cockerals. I ordered a mix of GFF lines and Rees line. It will be great for me to see some of the similarities, and differences in the birds.

How will you know which ones are which if you ordered them together? Are there significant differences in the lines?

My little Nugget came from a local breeder who has been established for some time, so I'm guessing that Nugget is GFF line.

I was hoping someone may have book marked the profile drawing that was posted on one of the CL threads. The drawings are on the idea of what an adult male and female CL should be shaped like. I looked in my favorites and I didn't seem to save. It was posted in one of the CL threads here on BYC. Thanks in advance.
at the CL type evaluation in California recently these shapes/profiles were discussed as items that most breeders need to work on for the male:
a full low chest for the male (vs a high chest)
a lower angle for the tail
and the shape of the back as viewed from above

also just bigger birds overall

@GaryDean26 and @juststruttin may have more specific comments

Did they mark them somehow or just dump them all into a box?

All cream legbars are from GFF lines. They have had 4 so far - A, B, 2013C, 2013D.... I think that's how it went.

The Rees lines should not throw any gold birds. I got a shipment from a couple auctions that is supposed to be all Rees birds - 13 total. I've lost one male and one female from the bunch. I'm watching them as a couple seemed darker than I had thought they should look. If anything turns out gold I'm going to contact GFF as for the prices they are charging that should not be an issue with any of the birds in this shipment. My own flock is all cream so I am past the gold toned phase and have no wish to revisit it, especially at these prices. I have them all tagged in the brooder so when they integrate I'll know which was which. There are many who think they are mixing the Rees line with their own. After so many years there are still gold toned birds that come directly from them. I'm hoping this is not the case with the Rees line. I do not think it will go down well with me.

While I was figuring out our new shipment,Jenny told me that all the banded birds are Rees line. Well,it turns out I'm a big fat liar, because I didn't end up with any banded birds that lived. So I'm assuming all the Rees line birds did not make it? Although I never looked for bands on the ones that didn't survive. Soooooo, when the replacement shipment arrives, the birds will have bands to tell the difference. I hope. Then I will repost pics that I am not lying about.lol.

I'm hoping that the color is there also. Bare minimum the genetics will be there for us to hopefully pull out and highlight what were after. Personally,I am hoping for better built birds,I see people here in US getting cream birds now without Rees line. So too me my concern will be type, knowing we will have the color genetics to work with. Now, if I only knew something about breeding chickens ibet I could do real good.ha ha.

Of 14 non Rees chicks that survived from a spring auction, I will be breeding none. From my auctionn last summer I have a pair that I kept. They have given me some nice traits that bred into my existing flock will take me forward into next year.
