Cream Legbars

WOW, this information is good to know. I was culling all of my "red" color headed Cream Legbars because I thought the color was not allowed and the blood was somehow "tainted". I now need to rethink this color thing.

We really all need to rethink it - you aren't alone.

Hi all. I have my very first CL, shes 2 weeks old, i only got her a few days ago, I'm not experienced with this breed and want to be sure it is a girl! There is a few signs a crest is startimg to show. But I'm totally parinoid! I'm also in the UK and altho its a pure breed CL it isn't necessarily breed to standards... thanks for any help!

Shes in with bantam chicks a week younger than her. Theres two lavender pekins, a sablepoot (booted bantam) and a buff laced wyandotte bantam. They were hatched under a broody but she turned on all the light coloured chicks and has only kept the black ones herself, as these were then put in the brooder I got my CL to go with them. My son has named her Wildstyle (from The Lego Movie) and I thought it could be quiet fitting with her crest especially if she ends up with a floppy comb (shes purely for eggs and wont be bred so that isn't an issue for me at all).

Feeling slightly better now some else thinks shes a girl! Thanks!

If she has a solid strip from her head, it is a keeper. Some of the females, the strip isn't solid.

yes lobbyloo88 it is a female. If her comb flops - that's fine - she's still to standard - it is the male that requires upright comb for standard. -- You have a pretty little pullet there.

great thanks for info! Phew! I'll relax a little now! Shes a little escape artist at the minute, my other half found her perched on the edge of the brooder box at midnight last night! Having to cover the top now!

Probably a bit more than 2 weeks too. Lots of tail and bit of crest is a bit more like 3
